The Dynamic Observer Engagement Tool is designed to make simulation experiences for learners off-site or to support limited resources. Furnishing the conditions in which learning can occur through simulation is thought to improve clinical, skills, clinical reasoning, patient safety and team building.
This innovative application is aimed at redefining passive simulation observations outside the physical space of a simulation, into active, accessible, and track-able learning experiences. Developed by a trans-disciplinary team including simulation, nursing, industrial engineering, and design professors in a university simulation setting, the primary user experience components have been carefully crafted with an eye towards learning theory. The end result is a digital environment that will enhance healthcare learner competencies in cognitive, psychomotor and affective skills.
